The SAOZ-MIR instrument : Système d'Analyse par Observation Zénithale

Overview

The SAOZ Balloon gondola carries a UV-Visible spectrometer for measuring vertical profiles of O3, NO2 and H2O by solar occultation during the balloons flight to the altitude of approximately 24-27 km.

One SAOZ-MIR data set is available from Ether. The data are level 2 vertical profiles; They were provided by J.P. Pommereau (LATMOS/CNRS) in V1 version for 2001, 2003 and 2004 and in V2 version for 2001 and 2003.
